Klingt grausiger als es ist. Sci-fi Fans mögen sagen: Zu wenig Science in der Fiction, dennoch ein schöner Film. Es ist eher ein Roadmovie als ein Horrostreifen - wer Zombieland mochte, sollte unbedingt einen Blick wagen.

/ WATCHMI, TWEAKFEST AND THE FUTURE OF TELEVISION

The Digital Culture & Lifestyle Festival, Tweakfest, was held on Friday and Saturday, April 23 & 24 in Zürich, Switzerland. The venue for this “Platform for the digital avant-garde” was the renovated “Alte Börse” formerly the Zürich Stock Exchange. Tweakfest offered participants and attendees the opportunity to discuss and experience current themes and developments in the areas of digital culture and digital lifestyle.

/ OUR CEO TALKS IPAD ON CHARLIE ROSE

/ NUMBER 1 ON THE DOWNLOAD CHARTS -- FOR TV TUNER SOFTWARE

We arrived at the office this week to discover a pleasant surprise: watchmi was #1 on the CHIP online download charts in the category "TV Tuner software." To substantiate this, CHIP online reports that the software has received 92% positive ratings from reviewers! Such honors can be fleeting, so we thought we would take a snapshot to remember the occasion:

/ WATCHMI IS NOMINATED FOR THE 2010 INNOVATION PRIZE!

watchmi is honored to have been nominated for the 2010 Mittelstand Innovationspreis-IT (IT Innovations Prize), in the On Demand category. The Mittelstand is an association of medium-sized businesses in Germany. Each year, it bestows the honor of the Innovationspreis-IT on significant technological innovations.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday, March 4 at the CeBIT show in Hanover, in „NORD/LB forum“ , Hall 37 (17).   The ceremony will be streamed live on the Internet.

/ WATCHMI – TV GETS PERSONAL AGAIN!

It may not have been perfect, but one thing is for sure: TV used to be simple.

There were just a couple of channels. You knew your favorite shows, and you knew when they were on. You sort of had an appointment with your TV to see those shows. And things were pretty good, all in all. We didn’t really know any better.

But over time, life just got more complicated. Lots more stuff, lots more choices. Try buying a pair of training shoes nowadays: there used to be two brands. Now there are thirty with fifty different models each. And that’s just in one department store.
